Set of Early Victorian Mahogany Library Steps
A set of quality early Victorian figured mahogany library steps with leather surfaces and storage compartment to the top c.1850. Three steps high with figured mahogany panels to the sides and front of... the top step. The tread of each step with olive green tooled leather surface, the top step with hinged cover opening to reveal an internal storage compartment. Sat on well turned frame and legs supported by a matching turned stretcher. A difficult item to find, presented in excellent condition with original patina and colour, some ware and markings to the leather treads. Not converted from a commode, very sturdy and usable. Measures 24" high x 19" wide x 27" deep. Stock number 37781.
