A top quality mahogany cased marine stick barometer with original gimbal by Russell of Norwich c.1930's. The solid mahogany case with arched top to the barometer scale box and slim case ...below, inset thermometer box to the front and rounded sides to the case. Brass cistern cover to the base and matching brass gimbal for wall mounting that keeps the barometer upright at all times. Cream ivorine scale to the barometer with mercury action stick barometer tube set to the centre, remote action vernier marker to the side. Matching scale to the original red alcohol action thermometer reading in Fahrenheit and Centigrade. Fully overhauled and working, presented in immaculate condition with a deep shine. Measures 35" long x 2.5" maximum width x 2" maximum depth. Sits 6" out from wall on gimbal fitting. Stock number 39258.
