A Regency period mahogany military rum decanter box and contents, with 17th Regiment and initials to the lid c.1820. Polished mahogany box with brass reinforced corners and edges, brass inset ...to the lid with engraving of the owners initials and 17th Regiment. The hinged lid opening to reveal an original fitted interior with purple velvet lining. Four original cut crystal decanters each with Sheffield silver plated cork stoppers, which include crests to the tops, along with a matching pair of cut crystal rummers; the stoppers with makers initials RPB, likely to refer to Roberts & Belk. An unusual item, the case in excellent original unrestored condition and the interior complete, a small chip to the rim of one decanter and to the foot of one rummer. Measures 14" wide x 9.5" deep x 7.5" high. Decanters and rummers measure 3.75" diameter x 6" high. Stock number 41461.
