A rare late Victorian oak cased miners stick barometer by J. Davis of London C.1890. Simple figured timber case with robust brass bezel to the glazed window, bone scales behind with remote action vernier marker. Brass reinforcement to the top and base of the case to ensure this instrument was robust enough for use in a colliery, once modern equipment came in most of these instruments were destroyed. Fully restored and ready for use. Measures 36" long x 3.5" wide x 1.75" deep
