Rare Moorcroft Blue Speckled Ground Pansy Vase
A rare early Moorcroft Pansy vase with Royal blue speckled ground, signed William Moorcroft to the base c.1915. Bulbous base and wide short neck; the sides of the vase decorated with a continu...ous band of four large pansies with buds and foliage above and below. The background and the flowers painted in tones of striking Royal blue with green highlights to the leaves. Speckled blue finish usually seen on Moonlit blue pieces to the deep glaze, signed William Moorcroft to the base along with factory impressions indicating a date of manufacture of c.1915 to 1919. A rare colourway presented in excellent damage free condition. Measures 3.5" wide x 5" high. Stock number CS334.
