Rare Moorcroft Big Poppy on Celandon Ground Vase
A rare Moorcroft ' Big Poppy ' design vase on sought after celandon ground c.1920. Slightly bulbous design with lightly flared rim, the vase decorated with a continuous band of tube lined big poppies.... The background in celandon green and the base of the vase with a light wash of blue; the flowers decorated in rich blues and pale yellows. Superb quality decorating and detail to the painting. Bears the Moorcroft factory impressions to the base along with William Moorcroft's signature in blue. A rare colourway, presented in immaculate condition with no damage or restoration. Measures 7.5" high x 4.5" maximum diameter. Stock number 38329.
