A rare and unusual Victorian Staffordshire pottery egg dish with sitting hen cover to hold a single egg C.1870. Basket weave design base with decorative green painted rim, the original cover depicting... a sitting hen with chick. Matching green and orange painted decoration. Presented in perfect condition with no damage or repairs. Measures 4" high x 4.5" wide x 3" deep. Stock number 35163.
