Quality George III Mahogany Stick Barometer
A quality George III period mahogany stick barometer with engraved silvered scale C.1810. The moulded edge case with book matched feathered veneers and fruitwood stringing. Swan neck pediment to the top with hinged opening door, silvered scale behind with alcohol action thermometer set to the side, turned cistern cover to the base, original mercury action movement fully restored and working. Bears the makers name G Giobbio, Bolton to the scale. Superb condition and colour with a good polish. Measures 38" long x 4.5" maximum width x 2.5" maximum depth. Stock number 36172.
