A superb quality pure wool Persian 'Shiraz' rug from the South West area of Persia in superb condition, newly cleaned ready for use c.1900. The hand knotted pure wool tufted pile with a soft red ground with geometric medallion to the centre section and interlinked geometric floral design decoration sat around the edge. Dark blue insets to the corners with triple border to the outer edge and champagne cream background to the wider centre border.
