Pair of Victorian Grand Tour Marble Bookends

A matching pair of late Victorian 'Grand Tour' marble bookends in the form of Roman ruined pillars c.1900. Each formed as half a pillar base with rounded stepped base and pillar with clipped corner sat above. The grey figured marble with ammonite fossils and flashes of white and terracotta throughout. The heavy bases with original veined paper covers. Each in superb condition with a deep shine and no damage. (Books in picture are not for sale). Each measures 5.25" wide x 2.5" deep at the base x 5.25" high. Stock number 39157.
