Pair of Victorian Bronze Marley Horses
A matching pair of mid Victorian cast bronze Marly horses by Guillaume Coustou with original patinated finish c.1880. Each horse superbly cast with excellent detail and original patinated finish. Original reins to each horse, the bases signed Coustou. These mid century bronzes are modelled on the original stone sculpture of the famous 'Cheval de Marly' that rested at the entrance of Louis XV's castle in Marly. Superior quality castings, each presented in superb original condition with excellent even patination. Each measures 16" long x 5" deep x 17.5" high. Stock number 39063....
