A matching pair of early Victorian mahogany framed library chairs with superb old brown leather upholstery c.1840. Moulded flat arched back flowing into the scroll end arms supported by swept ...back arm supports. Moulded base rail with turned tapering legs; the legs capped with brass castors to the front and are splayed to the rear. Deep buttoned mid brown leather upholstery to the back pads and the deep sprung seats with brass stud work trimmed edges throughout. Both chairs in superb original condition with no breaks or repairs, an original mellow colour and original patina; very comfortable and useable. Each chair measures 22" wide x 23" deep x 36" high to top of chair back x 19" seat height. Stock number 42130.
