An outstanding quality Victorian figured oak brass bound tantalus box with original fitted interior and crystal glassware c.1880. The figured oak hinged domed top box with opening double doors to the ...front, the external edges trimmed with gilt brass, matching recessed carry handles to the side. The top opening and the double doors to the front swinging out to reveal an original dark blue velvet lined interior with gilt brass frames to the doors holding the drinking glasses. Three recesses to the back holding the decanters. The finest quality original square cut tapering decanters with matching stoppers in mint condition. Set of 8 matching glasses in mint condition. Section to the centre to hold 2 packs of playing cards. Original working lock and key. Presented in immaculate condition with a deep shine and original patina. Measures 14" long x 9" deep x 10.5" high. Stock number 36889.
