An Outstanding Mid Victorian figured walnut games compendium.c.1880. Compact size with fold over front holding a fruitwood and ebony chess set. Lift out tray to the top with draughts, dominoes and cribbage board. Treen shakers, cards and steeple chase set to the base. Original leather gaming board to the back. Retailed by Bentitfink of Cheapside, London (established 1844-1910). Ebony stringing to the case. Working lock and key. Superb condition. Measures 13" x 9" x 7"high. Stock no.25733.
