Outstanding Victorian Brass Bound Strong Box
An outstanding quality mid Victorian solid mahogany brass bound strong box with original fitted interior C.1860. Solid figured mahogany with decorative polished brass corners and engraved lock escutcheon. Concealed key hole cover with hidden release button for the cover and engraved pattern. Carry handle to the top and reinforced lock. Brass plaque to the side engraved ' Honourable H. Vernon' Opens to reveal a fitted interior with lift out top tray fitted for pen and ink, including the original cut glass brass topped ink wells. Polished lower section for documents. Working lock and key. Superb... condition with a deep shine and good colour. Measures 13" wide x 9.5" deep x 7" high. Stock number 34249.
