Outstanding Pair of 1930's Mouseman Bootroom Chairs
An outstanding matching pair of early Thompson's of Kilburn 'Mouseman' bootroom chairs with original leather seats and wonderful patina c.1930's. Low proportioned framed backs with inset panels and cut out carry handles. The front legs formed in octagonal baluster design, typical of this maker, with well carved trademark mouse set to the left leg on one chair and the right on the other; supporting base stretchers. All surfaces with adzed finish, original brown hide seats and wonderful rich patina to each chair, particularly on the back. Rare and unusual early pieces presented in untouched orig...inal condition. Each measures 26" high to top of the back x 17" wide x 16.5" deep x 15" seat height. Stock number 38467.
