Outstanding Original George I Oak Chest on Stand
An outstanding and very original George I period oak chest on original stand C.1725. The two over three drawer formation sat under a boarded polished top with moulded cornice. Beaded moulding to the drawer surrounds and original engraved brass drop handles with matching lock escutcheons. Sat on the original stand with moulded waist meeting the top section. Two drawers sat above a shaped apron supported by turned legs and the original shaped stretcher, the design matching the apron. Bun feet to the base. Original drawer linings, very untouched with a superb colour and excellent original patin...a. Measures 58.5" high x 41" wide at the cornice x 22" maximum depth. Stock number 35552.
