Outstanding Georgian Penny Moon Longcase Clock

An Outstanding Mid Georgian oak and fruitwood inlaid 8 Day longcase clock made by David Collier of Gately, Cheshire.(working 1750-62). Superb inlaid case with walnut quarter columns repeated to the moulded cornice hood. Lacquered panel to the top. Canted corners to the base. Crossbanded throughout. Finely engraved brass and silvered dial with a penny moon to the centre. Rare world time chapter ring to the surround. Date aperture to the centre. Strikes on a bell to the hour. Fully overhauled movement. Superb colour, patina and small proportions measuring only 80"high.
