A fine original signed oil on canvas by highly regarded artist William Mellor 'On The Nidd Near Knaresborough' Superbly painted in typical Mellor style with excellent depth and mellow late sum...mer colours. Cattle watering in the river to the foreground with woodland to the banks of the river and the sun cutting through. Signed by the artist to the bottom right and inscribed by the artist to the rear. William Mellor born in Barnsley in 1851 painted extensively particularly in Yorkshire, he died in 1931. His works today are highly collected and remain as popular as ever. Presented in a quality swept timber gilt frame, the oil in excellent condition with no restoration. Measures 24" wide x 18" high x 1.75" deep. Stock number BA 123.
