A superb original oil on canvas by highly regarded artist Edouard Leon Cortes ' Cafe de la Paix, Paris' C.1940's. Cortes (1882- 1969) painted in the post impressionist style and was known for his diverse selection of Paris cityscapes painted with great detail depicting daily life in all waethers and times of the day. This work depicting a busy street scene on a wet street, Cafe de la Paix in the background and figures in dress of the period. Wonderfully colourful with superb detail. Signed by the artist to the bottom right. Presented in excellent condition and set in a quality swept timber ...gilt frame. Fully authenticated. Measures 21" wide x 18" high including the frame.
