A superb quality Victorian gilt brass desk top barometer and thermometer combination with weighted marble base by highly regarded maker Negretti & Zambra c.1880. Circular white marble base forming a paperweight with gilt brass cased double sided barometer and thermometer combination, folding carry handle to the top. The front with finely engraved silvered scale barometer bearing the makers name along with serial number, the rear side with matching silvered scale and the original circular mercury action thermometer reading in Fahrenheit and Centigrade. Bevelled edge glass to both si...des, fully serviced and working, presented in superb original condition with a deep shine. Measures 2.5" diameter at the base x 4.5" high including carry handle x 2.5" dial diameter. Stock number 39160.
