Moorcroft Moonlit Blue Pewter Top Biscuit Jar
An early Moorcroft Moonlit blue biscuit jar with Tudric pewter rim and cover, signed William Moorcroft c.1919. The bulbous base decorated with a continuous band of tube lined trees set against a landscape background. The background painted with a speckled blue sky and deep blue lower half. The trees painted in soft greens and rich blues with superb detail. Planished pewter rim to the top with domed push fit lid, knob set to the centre; stamped Tudric to the reverse (Liberty's trademark). Signed in blue William Moorcroft to the base along with Moorcroft factory impressions. Presented in... perfect unrestored condition with no damage or repairs, the pewter work with a rich patina. Measures 7" high x 5" maximum diameter. Stock number 38917.
