Moorcroft McIntyre Poppy Match Striker
An unusual Moorcroft Macintyre match holder and strìkèr poppy design decoration, signed William Moorcroft c.1910. Potted in solid clay for stability with domed sides, recess to the top to hold the matches and ribbed band to the base for striking the matches. The top half of the exterior decorated with a continuous band of tube lined poppies and stylized leaves painted in soft red with golden leaves set against a peach background. The base, top section and interior painted in a green wash. Bears the McIntyre factory mark to the base along with William Moorcrofts initials hand signed i...n green. Presented in excellent condition. Measures 3.75" diameter at the base x 2.75" high. Stock number 41440.
