Moorcroft Liberty's Green Pomegranate Vase
A superb early Moorcroft pomegranate vase with ochre ground and green over wash made for Liberty and signed William Moorcroft to the base c.1912. Superbly potted with bulbous base, narrow neck and wide flared rim. The body of the vase decorated with a continuous band of tube lined pomegranates with open fruits set against a background of leaves and berries, plus the underside of the rim decorated with cascading berries. Ochre background with an over washed in soft green; the fruits in soft reds with ochre leaves and red and purple berries. Signed in full by William Moorcroft to the base and... marked 'Made for Liberty & Co'. Presented in immaculate perfect condition with no damage or repairs. Measures 6" maximum diameter x 7.5" high.
