A mid Victorian solid walnut cased single fusee drop dial wall clock with cast brass bezel and 8" dial, fully serviced and working c.1875. The quality solid figured walnut case with slender surroun...d to the dial and drop box below with small ears set to each side. Access door to the side and base, securing pegs set behind either side of the dial for removing the dial and movement. Cast brass hinged bezel forming the door with glazed view window; the bezel opening with key operated catch to reveal an original painted dial with blued steel hands. The 8 day single fusee movement with anchor escapement and wire drive, complete with period key. Small proportion and presented in superb original condition with a rich polish, fully serviced and working. Measures 10" maximum width x 8" dial diameter x 5.25" deep x 13" high. Stock number 41650.
