Mid Victorian Mahogany Apothecary Box
An immaculate and complete mid Victorian mahogany cased apothecary box and original contents c.1880. The polished figured mahogany case with recessed brass campaign style handle to the hinged lid. The locking lid opening and the front falling by catch release to reveal a superb and complete original fitted interior. Row of apothecary bottles with contents, labels and stoppers to each sat at the front, larger bottles behind. The centre section with glass plate for mixing the medicines and two lift out trays with measuring, weighing and mixing items, pestle and mortar etc. Lower compartm...ent for holding bandages, lints and cotton wool; all complete and unused. Presented in superb clean original condition with a deep shine to the case. Measures 13.25" wide x 7" deep x 6" high. Stock number 38884.
