A well painted Victorian oil on canvas depicting a hunt by Sylvester Martin dated 1875. Superbly painted and detailed and typical of the artists subject with huntsmen on horse back following a pack... of dogs up a moor. Excellent colour throughout and signed by the artist to the bottom right along with the date 1875. Sylvester Martin, a British born artist (1856-1906), typically painted hunts, dogs and horses along with horse drawn carriages; this example presented in superb condition and sat in a simple timber gilt frame. Measures including frame 19" wide x 13" high. Stock number 40733.
