A quality mid Victorian burr walnut brass bound domed top letter casket with original fitted interior c.1880. Burr walnut veneers to all sides with decorative brass bound straps secured by dom...e head fixings running front to back, matching lock escutcheon and straps set to the corners. The hinged domed lid opening to reveal an original fitted interior with divisions to hold paper and correspondence; ebonised pen tray to the front and space for an ink well. Superb quality and condition with a rich polish. Measures 8.75" wide x 4.75" deep x 6" high. Stock number 39131.
