Mid Victorian Amboyna and Brass Inlaid Card Box
A quality mid Victorian amboyna veneered card box with coromandel banding and brass strung and bound edges c.1875. Slightly domed top with amboyna veneered centre, cartouch to the middle engraved with the word 'Cards'. The edges banded with amboyna, plus strung and bound with brass. Canted corners and matching veneers and inlays to the sides. Brass push button release catch to the front for opening the lid, with the lid opening to reveal a polished rosewood interior with divisions to hold two packs of cards, counters and dice. Presented in immaculate condition along with later cards, c...ounters and dice. Measures 8" wide x 5" deep x 2" high. Stock number 41454.
