Matching Pair of George III Silver Hester Bateman Salts
A matching pair of fine quality George III period solid silver salts with original Bristol blue liners by Hester Bateman, hallmarked London 1789. The fretted sides with bow and oval design decorated with fine quality engraving, rolled rim to the top with engraved finish, repeated to the base. The silver returning around the base to form a rim to hold the liner, with 4 claw and ball feet set to the rim. The original Bristol blue glass liners both with a star cut base. Each item bearing the makers name for renown silversmiths Hester Bateman. Presented in superb original condition with a deep shi...ne. Each measures 3.25" long x 2.5" deep x 2.25" high.
