A late Victorian mahogany cased 8 day 'four glass' mantle clock with ting-tang quarter striking, fully overhauled and working c.1900. Moulded edge mahogany framed case with moulded edge plinth form...ing the base. All four sides glazed with full sized bevelled edge quarter plate glass, matching full sized window to the top. Hinged door to the front accessing the engraved silvered dial with Roman numerals and blued steel hands, subsidiary time keeping adjustment dial and strike silent dial. The 8 day movement accessed from the rear, quarter ting-tang striking on two gongs to the quarters and striking on the hour - to hear this clock striking via a video on our YouTube channel please click here. Stamped by highly regarded German maker W&H to the back plate. Presented in immaculate condition with a deep shine, fully overhauled and working. Measures 8.5" wide x 7.75" deep x 10.5" high.
