An immaculate Victorian figured walnut jewellery box with superb original folding out fitted interior c.1890. Figured walnut exterior with ebony banding to each side of the top and front. Rounded edges to the hinged top lid with recessed engraved brass carrying handle, matching handles inset to each side and brass lock escutcheon to the front. The lid opening and the front falling to reveal an original fitted interior, with a buttoned silk lined interior and top trays fitted for rings, bracelets and watches. The trays folding out sideways supported by brass arms to reveal two more sect...ions and a lower internal section to the base of the box (click here to see video). Original leather cloth, silk and velvet lined interior in superb condition. Working lock and key, presented in excellent original condition with a rich polish. Measures closed 12.5 wide x 10" deep x 8" high and opens out to 31" wide. Stock number 39287.
