A substantial George I period oak refectory table, seating up to 10 people c.1720. The thick planked oak top with framed outer edge, sat over a carved and moulded top rail, original corb...els either end. The carving repeated to the sides, plain rail to the rear, typical of early tables which were usually sat against a wall. Turned baluster shaped legs with decorative ring turnings set to the corners, supported buy a H base stretcher. Superb rich colour throughout with a deep polish, very sturdy and usable, seats four to each side and one to each end. Measures 89" long x 30" wide x 30.5" high. Stock number 39778.
