A large and superbly detailed Edwardian solid silver owl perched on a silver mount and footed marble pedestal, standing nearly 14" tall c.1909. The solid silver owl with superb deta...il throughout, glass eyes to the removeable head revealing an internal storage space. Hinged wings allowing it to be displayed with wings at rest or raised as if to take off. The owls claw feet perched on a silver wood bark design mount. Green marble pillar below with fretted silver decorative mount and circular silver embossed foot forming the base. Bears Dutch silver marks and the makers mark '90' for Dutch silversmiths M.J. Gerritson & Co. A most unusual fine quality lifelike piece presented in immaculate condition with a deep shine. Measures 13.75" high x 4" wide x 5.75" deep x 4.25" diameter at the base.
