Large Burmantofts Art Pottery Faience Sunflower Jardiniere
A large Burmantofts Art Pottery Faience sunflower design jardiniere in mint condition c.1885. Superbly potted with applied slip relief decoration in the form of sunflowers running continuously... round the centre of the jardiniere with rope twist design rim to the top. Decorated in soft greens and yellows with a vibrant mustard colour salt glaze to the lower half. Bears Burmantofts factory impressions to the base along with shape number 2265. Burmantofts factory produced the Faience decorative art pottery wares at their Leeds factory between 1859 and 1904. This unusually large example presented in immaculate perfect condition with no restoration. Measures 12" diameter x 9.5" high. Stock number 40725.
