James I Period Oak Sword Box
An early James I period oak six plank sword box with wonderful colour and polish c.1600. Six plank construction in hand sawn oak with hand moulded edges. Simple well worn shallow carving to the lid an...d chip carved corners. Original hand forged strap hinges to the lid and strap lock to the centre. Sat on full length stiles, never reduced in length and with wonderful rich colour and patina. Measures 50" long x 13" deep x 20" high. Stock number CS99.
