A pair of Georgian solid silver candle snuffers or wick trimmers with superb decorative detail, hallmarked London 1822. The loop handles with reeded decoration to the surface and shell crests to the tops. Matching decoration to the handle stems, which includes a decorative inner infill link, resulting in three stems to each handle. Reeeded edge to the extinguishing box and shaped point to the end; the decorative detail continuing to the underside. Country House engraved monogram to the side and 'Forget Not' engraved above. The snuffers opening with spring closing ac...tion to extinguish the flame or trim the wick. Bears the makers mark for Thomas & George Hayter along with clear hallmarks to all sections.
