A late George III period carved oak box stool in superb original condition c.1810. Planked hinged top with moulded edge sat over the deep apron base forming a box, with carved lunettes to the front. Turned legs sat to the corners supported by a base stretcher, the hinged lid opening to reveal clear interior with original forged steel hinges. Excellent mellow colour and rich patina. Very sturdy and useable. Measures 17" wide x 13" deep x 14" high. Stock number CS311.
