A George III period silver cheese scoop with mother of pearl handle, hallmarked Birmingham 1806. The solid silver spoon with curved form and rounded end for scooping the cheese; swept top edge... where the spoon well joins the stem. The angled stem with bulbous knuckle to the centre and reeded silver mount at the end of the handle. Slightly flared mother of pearl handle with rounded sides and end. Bears the makers mark IT along with clear hallmarks. An unusual item presented in immaculate condition. Measures 6.25" long x 1.35" wide at the well x 0.5" deep at the well. Stock number 42064.
