A George III period oak cased longcase clock.c.1770. Made by William Newby of Kendal. Brass engraved centre dial with 'penny' moon, date aperture and seconds wheel. Strikes on a bell to the hour. Gillows of Lancaster case with shaped door flanked by half turned columns to the sides. Moulded cornice hood and finely turned pillars. Superb rich colour and patina. Full working order. Stands 19" wide x 9"deep x 79.5"high. Stock no.31802.
