A small proportioned George III period oak cased 8 day brass and silvered dial longcase clock by William Warin of Thirsk C.1780. Slim proportioned figured oak case with broad cornice to the top, blind fretwork below. Brass mounts to the columns either side of the dial. reeded quarter columns to the trunk with arched top long door. Sat on the original shaped plinth foot. Brass and silvered dial with date aperture and decorative engraved centre bearing the makers name William Warin, Thirsk. 8 day movement with anchor escapement and rack striking on a bell to the hour. Superb colour and original... patina, fully overhauled movement. Measures 6'8" high x 23" wide at the widest point x 9.5" deep.
