George III Mahogany Stick Barometer

A fine quality George III period figured book matched mahogany stick barometer with engraved silvered scale and thermometer by Ortelly & Co, Macclesfield; fully restored c.1810. Architectural pediment to the top with glazed hinged door strung with fruitwood and ebony, sat over the engraved silvered scale. The slim proportioned case with moulded edge and feathered book matched veneers; the edges strung to match the door. Turned cistern cover to the base.
