George III Mahogany Knife Box
A superb George III mahogany serpentine fronted knife box with original fitted interior and patina c.1780. Figured mahogany veneers to the top and front crossbanded with kingwood. Original lock escutcheon and drop handle to the hinged lid. Opens to reveal an original fitted interior with inlaid panel for holding the knives, matching inlays to the interior of the lid. Original colour and rich patina, presented in excellent original condition. Measures 9" wide x 10.5" deep x 15" high. Stock number 37579.
