George III Mahogany Church Wardens Candle Box
A George III mahogany church wardens candle box with match compartment at one end c.1800. Solid mahogany construction with visible mortise joints to the corners, division to the centre with raised swept top and cut out forming a carrying handle. Two long internal sections for storing the long candles, and small section to the end with hinged cover for storing the matches or tinder, brass ring pull handle to the centre. Excellent quality and presented in original condition with a rich polish. Measures 18" long x 5" wide x 4" deep box or 5.5" deep at the handle. Stock... number CS306.
