George III Mahogany Child's Chair
A superbly detailed George III mahogany child's chair with adjustable foot rest in Hepplewhite style c.1780. Moulded frame back with fretted fanned splat to the centre in typical Hepplewhite style. Moulded arm rest with swept back supports sat over a moulded edge seat frame. Matching moulded edge to the legs supported by a H base stretcher; brass locking plate to the centre stretcher rail for securing the chair in position. Height adjustable foot rest to the front and drop in seat cushion with old tapestry covering. Superbly proportioned and detailed, presented in wonderful original conditi...on with a rich colour and patina. Measures 15.25" wide x 11.5" deep x 23" high to chair back. Stock number 40239.
