George III Mahogany Box
A George III period figured mahogany box with fruitwood and ebony stringing and original brass fittings c.1800. Figured mahogany veneers to the exterior with fruitwood and ebony stringing to the sides and lid, small bracket feet to the base. The hinged lid with cushion top and original brass carrying handle set to the centre; complementing brass lock escutcheon to the front. Three section interior with pen tray to the rear, ideal for a desk top. Presented in excellent original condition with a rich colour and deep polish. Measures 10.5" wide x 6.25" deep x 6.25" high.
