George III Mahogany 8 Day Liverpool Longcase Clock
A fine quality George III period figured mahogany 8 day longcase clock with engraved brass and silvered dial by John Brownbill of Liverpool C.1775. The fine quality figured mahogany case with book ma...tched veneers to the door flanked by reeded quarter columns. Reeded pillars to the hood with swan neck pediment above, lacquered and gilded infill panels below. Canted corners to the base with clipped corner panel vento match the door. Superb brass and silvered dial with moon phases to the arch, concentric calendar to the inside of the chapter ring, subsidiary seconds dial. Cross hatched design engraved dial centre typical of the Liverpool area. The fully restored and working 8 day movement with anchor escapement and bell striking on the hour. Excellent condition with a rich colour and deep polish. 12 months guarantee. Measures 93" high x 22" maximum width x 10.5" maximum depth. Stock number PS124.
