George III Inlaid Burr Walnut Secretaire Chest
A Georgian inlaid walnut secretaire chest with fitted interior and brass axe drop fittings c.1800. The quarter veneered burr walnut top with oval inlaid panel to the centre and matching panels... to the corners. Full width secretaire drawer to the top with two over three drawer formation below; each drawer with crossbanded edges and oval panels of inlay to match the top. The pull out secretaire drawer with fall front forming a writing surface and internal burr satinwood drawers to each side and a bank of pigeon holes to the centre. Figured walnut veneered sides to the chest with inlaid panels, plus moulded plinth to the base with bracket feet below. Superb quality with oak lined drawers and a rich colour and polish. Measures 42" wide x 19" deep x 36" high x 28" high writing surface when opened out. Stock number 42127.
