George II Walnut Kneehole Desk
A fine quality George II period figured walnut kneehole desk with wonderful colour and polish c.1740. Book matched figured walnut top, with crossbanding and herringbone banding, moulded edge with tucks to the front corners. The front with full length drawer below the surface and small drawers set either side of the kneehole, cupboard to the centre. Figured veneers to match the top to the front and sides, moulded plinth to the base with original bracket feet below. Original engraved back plate brass drop fittings and steel locks. Superb proportions and presented in excellent original co...ndition with a rich colour and polish. Measures 35" wide x 19" deep x 29.5" high. Stock number 40173.
