A fine original oil on canvas 'On the Lledr' by highly regarded artist William Mellor c.1900. Superbly painted with mellow late summer colours and gently flowing waters. Sheep grazing on the hillsi...de with woodland set to the sides. William Mellor born in Barnsley in 1851 painted extensively in Yorkshire, the Scottish highlands and in North Wales regarded as one of the best artists of his times, died in 1931. Signed by the artist to the bottom left and the subject inscribed to the rear by the artist. Presented in excellent original condition with no damage or repairs. Set in a quality swept timber gilt frame. Measures 36" wide x 26" high. Stock number BA119.
